The Graphics menu

When visualizing the results of a SectionBuilder analysis, it is often necessary to manipulate the images displayed on the screen. The graphics commands are shown in fig. 1 and a brief description of each command appears below. All graphics command are available from the Graphics menu shown in fig. 1, which also shows the accelerator keys for the various commands, when available.

  1. Zooming commands (zoom increment 20%)
    • Zoom in: Enlarges the central portion of the image
    • Zoom out: Reduces the central portion of the image
    • Center: Brings the complete model to the center of the screen
    • Show model: Brings the complete model to the center of the screen and resizes to full screen

  2. Rotation commands (rotation increment ± 5o)
    • Rotate X+: Rotates the model about the screen horizontal axis
    • Rotate X-: Rotates the model about the screen horizontal axis
    • Rotate Y+: Rotates the model about the screen vertical axis
    • Rotate Y-: Rotates the model about the screen vertical axis
    • Rotate Z+: Rotates the model about the axis normal to the screen
    • Rotate Z-: Rotates the model about the axis normal to the screen


  3. Translation commands (translation increment 20% of image)
    • Translate X+: Translate the model horizontally
    • Translate X-: Translate the model horizontally
    • Translate Y+: Translate the model vertically
    • Translate Y-: Translate the model vertically


  4. Plane of view commands
    • View from b1: View with axis b1 normal to the plane of the screen
    • View from b2: View with axis b2 normal to the plane of the screen
    • View from b3: View with axis b3 normal to the plane of the screen
  5. Data size commands (vector size increment 20%)
    • Data size +: increases the size of displayed vectors
    • Data size -: decreases the size of displayed vectors
  6. Symbol size commands (font size increment 20%)
    • Symbol size+: increases the size of displayed text
    • Symbol size-: decreases the size of displayed text
  7. Background color command
    • Background: Toggle background color from white to black
